May Moments

We had a fun start to May with a visit from Great Aunt Deb (from Florida) and Great Auntie Barb (from Colorado).  We were so excited that they made us one of their pit stops (and our first guests) along their cross country road trip...

We took the kids and Baxter for a spin around the new neighborhood...

Norah enjoying some Mexican dinner in a very unique high chair...

Family, food and fun...

Nathan enjoyed making popsicles with Great Aunt Deb and Great Auntie Barb using the cool  new popsicle maker they brought for him...

The finished product - strawberry milk and banana chunk popsicles...

Yummy...

Our first play date at our new home - with the Ross girls...

A visit with Aunt Jenny and cousin Lauren from Ohio...

Nathan just loves lining up his toys - so orderly...

Having fun in their new play room...

Now that Norah is eating "real" food, Nathan likes helping to feed her...

Happy Mother's Day!
After church we had a picnic lunch and some play time at a nearby park - it was a beautiful day and a fun time...

I just love how she tucks her legs up in the swing - so cute...

Our cautious boy is getting braver each day...

My Little Love and my Littlest Love, my Honey Bear and my Honey Girl, my two little blessings from the Lord who make mother's day so special...

After the park we went over to Grandma and Pa Pa's to continue the celebration...

Another play date at our new home; this time with the Wright kiddos...

Nathan sure does enjoy bathing in our big spa tub...the bigger the tub, the more the bubbles...

That's right, not only does Nathan help feed Norah but he helps clean her up too...

Happy Birthday Daddy!
We picked up Chick-fil-A and met Daddy at a park for a picnic lunch...

Bathing Nathan and Norah together sure does make life a bit easier (and bath time more eventful)...

Happy Memorial Day!

Enjoying our new patio set with the fam...

Celebrating Daddy's birthday with the family...

Daddy got "The Berenstains' B Book" as a birthday gift from Grandma and Pa Pa.  This was his very favorite book growing up and it's been very special for him to read it to his kiddos...

Nathan and Norah got a picnic table of their own; here we are enjoying it for the first time during a hot spring lunch...

Nathan wanted to tie together his airplane, helicopter and boat so I brought down a ball of yarn to do the trick.  When I wasn't looking he took off running with the ball of yarn and wrapped it around the house...

Some super sweet Nathan moments from this month include one of my favorite Nathan moments to date.  It was May 8th and after I prayed for my breakfast he said, 'Mommy, I want to pray for you!' and then he began, 'Jesus, thank you for my Mommy.  Amen!'  I said, “Thank you so much, Nathan, that was so sweet and that made me feel so special!" to which he replied, ‘You are so special!’  If that doesn't make a mommy's heart smile, I don't know what does!  Another sweet thing is that out of the blue he started calling me 'Princess Mommy' and has been doing it all month whenever he addresses me or refers to me - how adorable!  Although this is my favorite saying, ome of my favorite words that Nathan says include 'beddy' (for belly), 'graham crappers' (for graham crackers) and 'yayo' (for yellow).

Some of the funnier moments of this month include when we were playing with playdoh and he used the snowman cookie cutter; after he pushed the playdoh snowman out of the cutter he added a lump of playdoh to the back of the snowman and said, 'this is his butt!' This month also included Nathan's first song that he's ever made up; he composed it while in the back seat of the car, running errands with Daddy one day.  It goes like this...'we're riding down the road, yes indeed!'  That's the only line but he repeats it many times in different volumes and keys!  Another funny story is when Nathan took his nap in the hallway outside of Norah's room!  Both kids were napping and I went upstairs to do something and there was Nathan - sound asleep in the hallway - so random!

Some of the more impressive moments from May include that he's into correcting you; as an example, if you tell him to sit in his chair he'll correct you and say, 'no Mommy, it's a bench!'  I'll tell you what, you better use the correct description because he won't let it pass him by!  One of his big leaps from this month was on May 18th when he made his very own turkey sandwich for lunch!  I cut his bread in half but he put his knife in the mayo jar and spread that on the bread and then I took the top off the mustard container and he put his knife in and spread that on his bread, put a handful of turkey on, a slice of cheese and pulled a pickle out of the jar to top it off.  I was blown away!  This is now commonplace whenever we have turkey sandwiches - he just loves to make his own!  Wow - he's just getting so independent!

Week 49 - Standing tall and riding high...

Norah is so proud and excited to pull herself up to things and by far her favorite thing to stand up to is her learning table...

She especially loves opening and closing the computer lid, over and over and over again...

She's also discovered her big brother's race car that she thoroughly enjoys"riding" (which consists of Mommy pushing her all around the house while holding onto the back of her shirt so she doesn't flop off).  She enjoys chewing the steering wheel...

Driving while sitting "Indian style" (aka her "cruising position")...

Riding high...

Standing tall on whatever is around for her to pull up on...

"Look Mom - one hand"...

Loving the bear...

Strangling the bear (perhaps she's just taking out some frustration over her teething pain as she got her 4th tooth on May 20, 2012 - her top, center right tooth)...
